Assistant County Attorney I/II/Sr.

  • Information: Under the direction of the Chief Deputy Attorney or County Attorney, the Assistant County Attorney I, II or Senior Attorney will be responsible for primarily handling child protection, child support, data practices, tax court appeals, forfeitures, and assisting in providing legal advice to county departments and committees. There is flexibility in assigned caseload. All attorneys also provide a ‘backup’ to another caseload type for vacation coverage.  Those areas include adult felony, the Owatonna City Prosecutor, juvenile delinquency, adult protection, child protection, truancy, maltreatment appeals, ERPOs, daily in-custody coverage, and forfeitures. Assistant Director of Community Corrections

Persons served are eligible for Medical Assistance through one of the health plans in Steele County. The focus with the position is the health and safety of persons served. Staff will work with clients to assess needs, develop plans that reflect the individual’s goals and assist in the acquisition of services and supplies needed to meet individual goals.
