Assistant County Attorney I/II/Sr.

  • Information: Under the direction of the Chief Deputy Attorney or County Attorney, the Assistant County Attorney I, II or Senior Attorney will be responsible for primarily handling child protection, child support, data practices, tax court appeals, forfeitures, and assisting in providing legal advice to county departments and committees. There is flexibility in assigned caseload. All attorneys also provide a ‘backup’ to another caseload type for vacation coverage.  Those areas include adult felony, the Owatonna City Prosecutor, juvenile delinquency, adult protection, child protection, truancy, maltreatment appeals, ERPOs, daily in-custody coverage, and forfeitures. All positions include remote work options for several days per week. Our staff who commute have found value with our generous flex-time work policy.
