Applications are being accepted for an Assistant Assessor position This position performs a variety of property appraisal tasks including: viewing, inspection, valuation, and classification of property for tax purposes, updating department records pertaining to current assessments and property data and responding to information requests regarding property value, classification, and taxes. This position is also responsible for responding to concerns regarding assessments and interpreting regulations and statutes to seek and resolve disagreements and disputes, reviewing and analyzing Clearwater County property sales data as a resource for determine assessments and utilizing maps and other technologies to complete assessment work.
Applicant must have a minimum of 5 years appraisal experience; be a Senior Accredited Minnesota Assessor (SAMA) and have a valid driver’s license. Experience using a computer and Microsoft Office
is required.

Part-Time Emergency Management Director

Qualifications:
Flexible hours up to 20 hours a week. May be periodically required to work evening and weekends and to respond to emergency management situation outside of normal working hours.
Associate degree in emergency management or related area and three years of relevant work experience.
Must possess a valid Minnesota driver’s license.
Must successfully complete a background check.
Demonstrate a strong ability to coordinate and effectively communicate under stressful or extreme circumstances.
Strong analytical skills and demonstrate ability to solve unstructured problems and effectively overcome obstacles.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning, developing, implementing and manage all aspects of Clearwater County’s Emergency Preparedness Program.

- Information: This position is assisting with maintenance of department accounting functions, processing accounts payable, receipting monies, entering and maintaining county budgets, reconciling and balancing accounts. Responsible for processing land tax forfeitures, assists with payroll, tax collection and the entering of special assessments, issuance of passports and administrating election procedures.
Desired education requirements are an associate degree in accounting, business, finance or related field or a minimum of three years’ experience in accounting of governmental accounting procedures and practices.
Salary Range is $21.25-27.69 with full benefits.
