MnCCC Spotlight: Mike Fox

Mike Fox Spotlight

What was your first job?

I had a paper route for the Minneapolis Star (weekday afternoons and Sunday morning) for several years when I was about 10-13 years old. Then worked at a Bridgeman’s Ice Cream Parlor through my senior year in high school.

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

I went to Benilde-St Margaret’s High School in St Louis Park then on to Bemidji State University and graduated with Economics and Accounting degrees. Bounced around in various jobs for a few years before landing my first accounting job at Harvest States Cooperative in St Paul in 1990 (Through mergers this became Cenex Harvest States or CHS) I had 2 accounting jobs before landing at MnCCC 15 years ago. My wife’s name is Julie, she is a 12-year breast cancer survivor and is tough as nails to be able to put up with me and our 2 sons, Jacob (26) and Bill (25). I have a couple classic cars (and looking for another one). I fish, hunt, water ski, play hockey. We have a lake cabin in Pine City, MN that we spend a lot of time at, winter and summer.

What interests you about MnCCC?

This is a unique organization that has survived many years under its initial concept. And, it continues to adapt and change under that concept to meet the ever-challenging computer software needs of counties. We really are a one-of-a-kind organization.

What is your role at MnCCC?

Accountant for the last 15 years with the goal of 20 years if you ‘all will have me!!!!!

What is something on your bucket list you'd like to do?

An Alaska fishing trip has to be on there, and probably a Canada moose hunt and for sure a few more trips down the drag strip in a REALLY fast car!!!!
