MnCCC Spotlight: Kyle Jerviss
MnCCC welcomes one of our newest Board members, Kyle Jerviss! Kyle is the IT Director at Wabasha County and has been an active member of MnCCC's Information Services Support Group (ISSG). He began his role on the MnCCC Board as the Treasurer in May 2026.
What is your current role at Wabasha County?
I was hired by Paul Kessler as a technician in 2006. 15 months later, he left the county to pursue other opportunities. I apparently did a good job as Acting IT Director, and was offered the permanent job.
Where did you grow up? What was your first job?
I grew up in Kasson, MN, a small town in Dodge County, west of Rochester. My first real job was as an attendant at the town's self-service/automatic car wash.
What made you want to get involved with MnCCC?
I recognized the importance of what MnCCC does, and how few people were doing the work to run it. I wanted to make sure no one could say that Wabasha County wasn't doing our share.
What advice would you give to someone wanting to become more involved with MnCCC?
Whatever you can do to help out is appreciated. It is mostly painless and doesn't take that much of your time.
What is a non-work skill you'd love to master? What is something unique most people may not know about you?
I'd love to have the time and space to set up either a wood shop or a metal shop. I know the basics of the Sumerian grammar and can, with a great deal of effort and access to the right reference libraries, translate Cuneiform.
What's on your bucket list?
I have the opposite of a bucket list. Of the million projects I have on my mind, I'm busy crossing off things that I'm never going to get to.
