MnCCC Spotlight: Jody Moran

Jody Moran Spotlight

This month we'd like to recognize Jody Moran, Washington County!

What was your first job?

I am an animal lover so my first job I rode my bike to, or my parents drove, was at our local veterinarian clinic cleaning kennels and letting dogs outside to stretch their legs and play on the weekends.  My first job I actually drove myself to was the local movie theater.  Let me tell you I don’t eat much popcorn anymore!

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

I grew up in Grant, MN youngest of five girls. I guess I was the last try for a boy?!  I graduated from Stillwater Area High School and attended St. Cloud State University and Century College.  Not being a fan of Minnesota winters I moved to Boca Raton, FL and was a nanny for a year.  Shortly after I moved back home I started working in the Recorder’s office at Washington County.  Twenty six years later, I’m still here! I’ve held several positions in the Recorder’s office, 6 years supervising the Abstract division. Being the challenge seeker that I am I switched gears and moved over to the Assessment division as the Assessment Support Manager and again several years later I crossed over to the Taxation division and am now the Taxation Division Manager. This is a great public service job and I feel fortunate to have been in public service at Washington County.  Washington County truly is “A great place to live work and play…today and tomorrow”.  I am a country girl at heart and in my spare time my happy place is to ride and camp with my horse at various parks and trails with family and friends.

What interests you about MnCCC?

What interests me the most is the opportunities of working together for the benefit of the consortiums.  Whether it’s the benefits participating counties receive through cost savings of a joint powers technology solution or learning, sharing knowledge/expertise, and networking through advisory/sub committees.  The best thing I’ve done through MnCCC is, get involved!  I can’t tell you how my tool box has grown!

What is your role on the MnCCC Board?

I am currently the MnCCC Board Treasurer

What is something on your bucket list you'd like to do?

  • I’d like to be a grandma someday but that is contingent on my daughter who swears she’s never having kids!
  • Road trip through Montana and Utah, with my horse of course, and ride in the national parks.

 Thank you, Jody!
