MnCCC Spotlight: Jill Timm

MnCCC Spotlight Jill Timm, Washington County

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am a Minnesota native.  I grew up in Echo, Minnesota and received my Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Exercise Science from Gustavus Adolphus College.  I received my Juris Doctorate from William Mitchell in 2003.  I just celebrated my 26th wedding anniversary and have three children – all heading to High School this fall!  (9th, 11th and 12th).  I run, bike, spend time on the lake, play piano and read.  Except I also have spent the last year working through the pandemic, so mostly, I run and listen to podcasts in the cracks of free time.

What was your first job?

Aside from lots of babysitting, I worked at an insurance company for 5 years in high school and college – filing, typing, correcting, etc…  It was great to have a daytime, Monday – Friday job leaving weekends and evenings free for the outdoors!

What is your role with Washington county?

I am a Sr. Program Manager in our health department, working for our department director and leading the nursing programs in the department.  The work is diverse, as I lead Correctional Health in the county jail; our Disease Prevention & Control Work; WIC and Family Home Visiting.

What interests you about MnCCC?

The vast amount of support provided to so many areas of local county government.

What is something on your bucket list?

Well, I have not added many items to my bucket list recently.  And this is hard.  I suppose I focus a bit more on living in the moment.  Maybe owning a jeep wrangler?  Not to crazy!
