MnCCC Spotlight: Emily Wick

MnCCC Spotlight Emily Wick

What was your first job?

My first job was as a dishwasher when I was 14 at a place called Ted & Gen’s in Aldrich, MN. The dishwashing machine hardly worked, so we had to wash EVERYTHING by hand in boiling hot water. Needless to say, that was a character-building job.

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

I was born in Texas and moved to Minnesota when I was pretty little. I grew up in Staples with my parents, sister, and two brothers, of which I’m the youngest. I participated in golf, cross country, and all things music in high school. I graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead in December 2018 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies. In fact, the summer before my senior semester, I was the MnCCC Marketing and Event Planning Intern! Some of my favorite activities include drawing, reading, golfing, cooking, crafting, and spending time with family. You can typically catch me daydreaming about going on vacation, binge-watching something on Netflix, or drinking lots of coffee.

What interests you about MnCCC and what is your role?

I am the Marketing and Membership Specialist. I thrive at the intersection of marketing, technology, and community engagement - bringing creative solutions and operational excellence to every project. With hands-on experience in Salesforce, Microsoft 365, and Adobe Creative Cloud, I streamline processes, elevate events, and empower teams, and have been recognized for trauma-informed leadership and strategic facilitation.

Among all the great things this organization stands for, my favorite thing about MnCCC is the people we work with. Not only am I incredibly fortunate for such an amazing group of internal staff, but our members, vendors, and other partners are a joy to work with as well. There is nothing more important than making relationships with others, especially when what you do impacts their day-to-day this much.

What is something on your bucket list you'd like to do?

I hope to visit all 7 continents in my lifetime!
