MnCCC Spotlight: Elisha Long
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
My name is Elisha Long. I have been happily married to my husband Garrett for seven years and have two kids, Emma (6) and Owen (4). I graduated from St. Cloud State University (Go Huskies!) in 2011 with a focus in Real Estate. After graduating, I started my career as a commercial appraiser in Minneapolis and moved back to my hometown to pursue my passion in assessing. Family is and will always be my primary focus, however when I do find time for myself, I thoroughly enjoy a good book or a new docuseries.
What was your first job?
My first job was in real estate, setting my career trajectory. I worked as a receptionist at a local real estate brokerage, which fueled my interest in the single-family and commercial markets.
What is your role with Isanti County?
I am the Isanti County Assessor and have been fortunate to serve in this position for the last three years. Prior to my current role, I was the Deputy Assessor and a Residential Appraiser and have dedicated more than 10 years of service to the Isanti County Assessor’s Office.
What interests you about MnCCC?
I have been involved in MnCCC for three years. I am currently the Chair for the Tax Court User Group and Recording Officer for the CAMA User Group. What I enjoy most about MnCCC is that it brings all counties together to collaborate and share ideas to develop system solutions to enhance day-to-day operations. As a new assessor, the CAMA User Group was instrumental in helping me develop a deeper understanding of our CAMA system, by providing trainings and system testing that I had never done previously.
What is something on your bucket list?
Travel and see the world! In college, I took the opportunity to study abroad in Italy and Greece and it was the most amazing experience. I wish to expand my travels in the future and experience the true wonders throughout the world with my family.
