Gratitude in the Spotlight: Giving Thanks, MnCCC Style

In honor of the Thanksgiving season, MnCCC is highlighting a few Board members to express our gratitude for their contributions to our organization. This edition of Gratitude in the Spotlight features Annalee Jones, Polk County Deputy Director or Property Records, who currently serves as At-Large Region Representative on the MnCCC Board. Annalee has been an involved, enthusiastic member of MnCCC for many years, and has volunteered her time to serve our organization as a Board member. Annalee's efforts as an MnCCC Board and User Group member are highlighted below!

How did you get into your current role at Polk County?

I started my career with Polk County as a clerk in the Sheriff's Office. After a year and a half there, I migrated to the Assessor's Office as a Property Appraiser. After almost 7 years, I transitioned to my current position, where I specialize in property taxes and special assessments.

Where did you grow up? What was your first job?

I grew up in Deer River, Minnesota. I started very early on working for my dad's fishing guide and tackle company making jigs, fishing lures, and cleaning the boat for cash. 😊

What made you want to get involved with MnCCC?

I've spent several years being involved in the Aumentum Tax User Group and quickly realized that I wanted to be involved on a higher level. I'm one of the few Board members from far northern Minnesota, and I felt called to represent the unique part of the state where I was born and raised.

What advice would you give to someone wanting to become more involved with MnCCC?

Getting involved has been the best thing I've done! The network opportunities and friendships that have come out of my MnCCC experiences are invaluable!

What is something unique most people may not know about you?

I love crocheting and collecting yarn... I love making presents to give away, but my goal this winter is to make myself a sweater!

What's on your bucket list?

To visit all the US National Parks.

Thank you, Annalee, for sharing some fun facts about you, and for your participation with the MnCCC Board. We are grateful for you!
