What's New?

Accounts Receivable is Here!

The most requested capability over the past 10 years, AR functionality has been added to the version 7.0 release of Cash Drawer. This allows users to create and manage invoices, linking them directly to receipt payments in Cash Drawer, and then sending those payments to IFS. If you don’t yet have Cash Drawer, check it out today!

Tips:

When creating new account codes that may have accruals, it's always best to set the start date to 1 year before you begin using the account. If you don’t, the account won’t be valid for the previous year to accrue against.

When creating a new fund or department (if the fund is set up cash by department), be sure to create the Cash and AP accounts in that fund/department. Not doing so can result in an error when processing one of the new accounts.

Tech Corner

Want to retire your iSeries?

TriMin can migrate and run IFS and Cash Drawer on Windows. Many county IT departments have already migrated IFS to Windows to make IT support simpler. Email TriMin if you are interested!

Penetration testing will be performed in 2026!

Here’s a high-level plan:

  1. Testing Setup - TriMin will create test environments and test data for the penetration tests.
  2. TestingCyber Advisors will run the tests on IFS and Cash Drawer and provide a report of their findings.
  3. Fixing Issues (Remediation)
    1. TriMin will make a plan to fix any issues found within 90 days of each test.
    2. If fixing an issue will take longer than 90 days, TriMin will create a plan and notify MnCCC.
    3. Updated software will be released to IFS counties using TriMin’s normal release process.

Q&A from January

My auditors want a list of all vendors added this past year. Is there a report to will give me that?

Yes, under Reports-->Other-->Added Vendors List or List Vendor Additions or Changes. This spring with the release of IFS version 7.0 there will be a new Vendor Audit Listing available in File Maintenance-->Vendor File which will have much more detail than the existing reports. The data for the audit listing will be available at the time of implementing version 7.0 going forward.
