MnCCC Spotlight - Lynn Boraas, Carver County
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I was born in Las Vegas and moved to MN before I was a year old. I currently live in Glencoe. I have two grown children (Aaron and Krista) who I am incredibly proud of and love spending time with! I enjoy music, traveling, watching MN sports teams (especially the Twins), reading and playing board/card games. I also very much enjoy spending time up North at the lake.
What was your first job?
Like many, my first job was babysitting. When I was in high school, I worked at Green Giant as a clerk in the shipping office for one summer (working overnights) and then moved to the Administrative Office for the next several summers.
What is your role at Carver County?
I am part of the Financial Services Division – a GREAT team that I very much enjoy working with!
What interests you about MnCCC?
I have worked with several MnCCC committees over the years, most recently as the Vice Chair of Finance & General Government and have been fortunate to build invaluable relationships. MnCCC provides collaboration and cost savings to counties and opportunities for members to meet colleagues and share knowledge/best practices with others from across the state. I’ve learned so much through my involvement with MnCCC and encourage others to get involved!
What is something on your bucket list?
Travel…I would love to go to Ireland, Italy and England! There are also many places in the States I would like to visit!
